Lawn care built for Jupiter, not for the whole county
Jupiter is not one kind of property. A townhome in Abacoa sits on a small irrigated lot with HOA standards for the front lawn. A house in Jupiter Farms may have an acre of pine flatwoods, a well, and no HOA at all. Waterfront homes in Admirals Cove and along the Loxahatchee River get salt spray and a constant breeze. Each one needs a different program, and treating them all the same is how lawns in Jupiter end up patchy by August.
We build the plan around your lot. That means a fertilizer blend for sandy soil that drains fast and holds few nutrients, pest treatments timed to when chinch bugs and sod webworms actually show up, and a mosquito program for homes near the river, the inlet, and the wetland edges that surround the town. One local call covers the lawn, the hedges, and the inside of the house.

- Fungus treatment for brown patch and take-all root rot
- Whitefly treatment for ficus hedges and palms
- Mosquito control for riverfront, inlet and wooded lots
- General pest, rodent exclusion & termite inspection
What Jupiter lawns actually deal with
Chinch bugs are the number one lawn killer in Jupiter. They feed on St. Augustine grass, the dominant turf in Abacoa, Jupiter Farms and most of the town, and they hit hardest in the hottest, driest stretches along sidewalks, driveways and south-facing edges. Damage looks like drought at first, then the yellow turns to straw and does not come back. We check for them on every visit and treat before the patch spreads.
Whitefly is the second most common call. Ficus privacy hedges line a huge share of Jupiter properties, and ficus and spiraling whitefly can strip a hedge in a matter of weeks. We treat the hedge and the soil so protection lasts through the season instead of a few days.
Sandy soil is the quiet problem. Jupiter sits on old dune and coastal sand that drains in minutes and leaches fertilizer just as fast. Cheap quick-release nitrogen washes through before the roots can use it. We use slow-release blends plus iron so the color holds without burning the lawn or feeding the river.
Mosquitoes follow the water. Homes near the Loxahatchee River, the Jupiter Inlet, the Intracoastal canals and the preserves west of the turnpike see heavy pressure from May through October. A monthly barrier treatment on the hedges, under decks and around the pool cage knocks down the population where mosquitoes rest, not just where they bite. Details are on our mosquito control page.
How we treat a Jupiter lawn through the year
Spring (March to May). The first full fertilization of the year goes down before the town's rainy-season ban begins, along with pre-emergent weed control for crabgrass and dollarweed. As temperatures climb we start the first chinch bug inspections, because the earliest damage in Jupiter often shows up in late April.
Summer (June to September). The Town of Jupiter bans nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer from June 1 through September 30 to protect the Loxahatchee River. We switch to iron and micronutrients to hold color, run the heaviest pest rounds of the year for chinch bugs, sod webworms and army worms, treat fungus after the big rains, and keep mosquito barriers on a monthly cycle. Our guide to Palm Beach County fertilizer rules explains what is and is not allowed.
Fall (October to November). Once the ban lifts, a slow-release feeding rebuilds roots worn down by summer. Whitefly pressure on ficus usually peaks now, so we treat hedges and palms before the dry season sets in. This is also when we reset the lawn treatment schedule for the cooler months.
Winter (December to February). Lighter feeding, broadleaf weed control while the grass slows down, and the best window of the year for termite inspections and rodent exclusion, since roof rats start looking for warm attics in Jupiter's wooded and waterfront neighborhoods.
